BTEC Level 2 Award in Awareness of Dementia

Level 2 BTEC Award in Awareness of Dementia is aimed at those who wish to improve their own knowledge and understanding of Dementia and those who support individuals with the condition, in a personal or professional capacity. The programme includes four units including:

 

  • Dementia Awareness
  • The person-centered approach to the care and support of individuals with dementia
  • Understand the factors that can influence communication and interaction with individuals who have dementia
  • Understand equality, diversity and inclusion in dementia care.

 

Price: £350 (plus VAT)

 

The course aims to provide learners with an understanding of the common types of dementia and their causes. It will also help learners to develop an awareness of how the actions of others can affect individuals with dementia and provides them with an understanding of a person-centred approach to dementia care and support. Learners who successfully achieve the qualification will have a greater understanding of the condition, increasing their professional confidence and enabling them when supporting those with dementia. The units achieved will also count as credits needed for the full Diploma in Health and Social Care.
